🎶 Abdel & Los Muchachos – Gipsy Kings Tribute
Abdel & Los Muchachos is a vibrant tribute to the legendary sound of the Gipsy Kings, bringing the passion of flamenco, rumba, and Latin rhythms to stages across Europe.
Born on August 28, 1985, in Rabat, Abderrazak Essamni (Abdel) discovered his love for music at an early age as the lead singer of his school choir. At 17, a life-changing moment occurred when he picked up his first Spanish guitar—igniting a deep passion for flamenco and Spanish music.
In the early 2000s, surrounded by the sounds of the Gipsy Kings, Abdel taught himself to sing their songs by heart—despite not yet speaking Spanish. This passion led him to learn guitar chords so he could accompany himself, laying the foundation for his future career.
Guided by mentors such as Younes Oton, Ahmed Romani, and Youness Moufique, Abdel quickly evolved into a versatile musician. Within just a few years, he was already performing professionally in luxury venues across Morocco and Spain, including renowned hotel brands like Sofitel, Mövenpick, and Le Méridien.
His musical journey eventually brought him to the Netherlands, where he settled permanently. A pivotal moment came during a flamenco workshop in Granada, where he met guitarist Pilar Alonso. Inspired by his talent, she encouraged him to audition at Codarts in Rotterdam, where he studied under the legendary Paco Peña. Despite not reading music, his natural talent earned him a place.
During his years at Codarts, Abdel developed his artistic vision: a high-energy tribute to the Gipsy Kings. He carefully selected talented musicians to bring this vision to life.
