Conjunto Amsterdam is een Latin-sextet met daarin een aantal van de meest toonaangevende Latin-musici uit Nederland van dit moment
Zij spelen een briljante mix van Salsa Dura en Latin Jazz met een compleet eigen geluid en ongekende swing. Conjunto Amsterdam features 3 zangers met ieder een hele eigen stijl. Samen met de ijzersterke ritmesectie verliezen zij nooit het contact met het publiek: voordat de toehoorders het weten, staan zij uit volle borst mee te zingen of uitzinnig te swingen op de dansvloer. En er wordt ook veel gelachen op het podium, en die energie springt over op het publiek. Conjunto Amsterdam heeft in Nederland al een status van “geheim-tip” opgebouwd.
In 2016 verscheen hun eerste CD, MUEVETE!, vol met met frisse, eigentijdse arrangementen van bekende Salsa-Klassiekers met een vette sound, die laat denken aan legendarische groepen als “Seis del Solar”. In de afgelopen jaren brachten zij singles uit zoals ‘Salsa en los tiempos de Corona’, ‘Morning’ en op 12 februari 2023 nog ‘Sujétate La Lengua‘ van Eloy Oliva (La Sonora Matancera) en bekend gemaakt door Eddie Palmieri.
Conjunto Amsterdam bestaat uit 6 musici die allen reeds nationaal maar ook internationaal hun sporen verdiend hebben in de Salsa wereld, te weten:
