Jim Cain, alias van Michiel Vaernewyck, is een singer-songwriter uit het Gentse. Eindeloos gefascineerd door helden als Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell en Jackson Browne brengt hij nummers over wat een mens bezighoudt: illusies en onthulling, twijfel en hoop, verleden en toekomst... gelukkig gepaard met een gezonde portie zelfrelativering.
Gewapend met een warme stem en een karaktervolle six-string, brengt hij een muziekstijl die balanceert tussen sixties folk, blues, soul, country en dat tikje rock. Geïnspireerd door zijn helden, maar heel wat eigen verhalen te vertellen.
Boek nu voor een avond vol story and song, een lach en een traan en een connectie met het publiek: it's why we sing. Van nature een solo-act, maar ook beschikbaar als duo, trio of full band (incl. piano, bas, elektrische gitaar, saxofoon en drum).
Jim Cain verzorgde al driemaal het voorprogramma van Johan Verminnen en speelt al jaren zowel in cafés als jeugdhuizen, zalen als huiskamers, (groot)steden als dorpen doorheen het land. Café de loge in Gent, La Porte Noire in Brussel, CC Muze in Heusden-Zolder zijn slechts enkele locaties, alsook festivals als het Gentse Klinkeroever, het Luisterplein op de Gentse Feesten en de Paulusfeesten in Oostende.
