Julien / Solo artist
Julien Moussiegt (Montpellier, Frankrijk 1988) begon heel jong als muzikant: hij zong in diverse koren en startte met percussie toen hij 8 jaar was, eerst aan het Nationaal Conservatorium van Toulon (Frankrijk). Enkele jaren later ging hij naar de muziekacademie "Prince Rainier III" in Monaco. Aan het eind van deze studies creëerde hij het Sueños, een muzikale droomreis door Latijns-Amerika. In 2012 studeerde Julien af aan de Superior Music School van Catalonië (Esmuc) in Barcelona, met een afstudeerproject over theatrale muziek. Daarna behaalde hij een master aan het Rotterdams Conservatorium (Codarts) waar hij onderzoek deed naar de interpretatie van hedendaagse muziek.
Sinds de voltooiing van zijn studie, die gericht was op alle klassieke slagwerk instrumenten, richt Julien zich nu voornamelijk op muzikale projecten en optredens met de vibrafoon. Een van Julien's interesses is het experimenteren met de uitbreiding van de geluidsmogelijkheden van slagwerkinstrumenten met elektronica.

The contact with Julien was very easy and he happened to be very collaborative and solution seeker. He played background music during out party and performed some pieces for auditors. He adapted his play to adults and children. It was a great pleasure to listen at Julien's play. Thank you
I have played my music live as well as for recordings with Julien for several years, and he is easily my go-to vibraphonist. He has incredible speed learning parts by ear or by reading, can put his own interpretation on things but also knows how to listen to my direction if I have a specific wish for the material. On top of it all, he’s a funny and caring guy- really enjoyable company in the creative process. Highly recommend!!
Het solo-concert van Julien Moussiegt op 2 december 2018 op de vibrafoon was geweldig. Julien is een goede musicus die zijn muziek heel serieus neemt. Julien bracht de uitgebreide expressieve en dynamische mogelijkheden van de vibrafoon ten gehore. Het publiek was erg enthousiast over het concert en in het bijzonder over o.a. de klassieke arrangementen van Reich, Bach en Piazzolla.

Motor ON geeft de luisteraar een indruk van de uitgebreide expressieve en dynamische mogelijkheden van de vibrafoon. De motor, het echte handelsmerk van het geluid van dit instrument, creëert verschillende snelheden van tremelo, die aan elk stuk zijn eigen vibratie geeft.In Back2Bach speelt Julien, zonder motor, krachtige en expressieve klassieke arrangementen van Steve Reich, Astor Piazzolla en Johann Sebastian Bach. Deze muziek was niet gecomponeerd voor vibrafoon, maar voor luit, gitaar en Afrikaanse claves.
