Brussels based duo Leitmøtiv. (Pieter Deslagmulder and Joris Van Cauwenberge) are one of those rare acts whose music caters for both body and soul. Their aim is to guide the public through the dark night (the German “Leitmotiv” literally meaning “leading motif that should be clearly identified so as to retain its identity if modified on subsequent appearances”).

The pair met back in 2014 at the local “Lembeek Beach” festival, and immediately struck up a rapport. “It was almost inevitable for us to become friends”. Their musical bond deepened swiftly through regular late night sessions at home or in clubs and at festivals. “Mutual interests and a similar perception of music and life brought us together”.

Their style can be described as a flawless blend of deep and melodic house and techno tunes with a strong emotional and yet soft touch. Due to a variety of influences in the setlist, Leitmøtiv. is able to build a strong connection with a very loyal crowd. “Music is all about emotions, definitely on a dancefloor. It’s all about the music, always”.

For a duo who don’t like to be pigeonholed, it’s a perfect fit. That’s why Leitmøtiv. is here to stay.
