Matty Rea / Band
Matty Rea was a backpacker turned busker due to having no job in 2014 whilst living in Queenstown, New Zealand. Matty quickly found himself in huge demand around the town, being hired by most clubs and bars for live entertainment.
On returning home to Belfast in mid 2015, Matty decided music was where he needed to be and continued working hard to create a name for himself locally.
Since then, Matty recorded his first EP 'Two Souls' in 2015 and has opened for acts such as, Alt-J (London, 229 The Venue 2015) KeyWest (2015 JoyLand tour dates) Ryan Sheridan (Belfast, Limelight 2016) and more.
In 2016 Matty won BuskFest, a day dedicated to buskers from all over N.Ireland/Ireland and had his first self promoted UK/Ireland summer tour which included 10 shows, 2 of which sold out (Belfast, The Errigle Inn + Galway, Monroes)
Mattys recent EP “Paperclip” was released on May 3rd 2017 to a sell out crowd at St.Marys Cathedral, N.Ireland. The event was recorded by our friends at The Garage Project and is available at - www.mattyrea.co.uk, Soundcloud and Youtube.
Matty is currently working on his 3rd recording and is achieving this between both Sonic Visuals Studio (N.Ireland) and London.
