Ooit een band gehoord die ‘trippop’ maakt? Lyrische dynamische popmuziek in een bad vol psychedelische surfgitaarsamples en barokke klanklandschappen. De Zaanse indie popband FIRST E is actief sinds 2011 en wil een eigen plek in de Nederpopscene. Op 11 november 2011 werd de EP ‘Dizzy girls’ uitgebracht, vergezeld door een (met een filmprijs bekroonde) videoclip op You Tube. Na vele bejubelde optredens in de regio werd begin 2013 het eerste, zeer goed ontvangen, album ‘Bankers Corpse’ uitgebracht. Voor het tweede album werd begin 2014 uitgeweken naar de professionele IJland studio in Amsterdam waar onder leiding van producer duo Thomas Olivier/ Remko Schouten (o.a. Stephen Malkmus, Brian Eno, Paulusma, Heather Nova) dertien nummers werden vastgelegd voor het in juli 2014 uitgebrachte tweede album ‘The other side of Eden.
Drie songs van de zeer goed ontvangen nieuwe plaat verschenen afgelopen jaar al op single en bereikten de top-3 van de IndieXL Chart. ‘Zero gravity’ bereikte zelfs de nr.1 positie. ‘Sujet’ heeft al de aandacht getrokken van de productiemaatschappij van filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Radio 3FM en StuBru hebben heel voorzichtig enkele liedjes van First E laten horen. Het Belgische MusicZine sprak over een uiterst gevarieerd album met raakvlakken aan het Engelse ‘Archive’.
Live staat de band als een huis. Alle liedjes worden ook live waargemaakt! Deze maand speelt First E o.a. in Paradiso (4 augustus), Festival Wormer Live (15 augustus) en Festival Houtpop Alkmaar (22 augustus).
